52 | Leveraging Your Uniqueness As An Immigrant to Succeed

The job market is so competitive, so how do I differentiate myself? Differentiation is what sets you apart from the crowd and creates a sustainable, competitive advantage. There has never been nor will there ever be another individual exactly like you. You are unique and your talents, thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and contributions cannot be duplicated. Therefore, differentiation is how you communicate and apply your unique gifts.

This week’s episode is all about how Faham Rashid used his international experience to his advantage. I discussed extensively with Faham what he did to set himself apart and how immigrants can bring their unique international experience and skillsets to the Canadian corporate environment to succeed.

Faham Rashid is currently Senior Director, Operational Risk Management. He has spent more than a decade in international banking in a variety of leadership and execution roles.

Faham is passionate about mentoring other professionals about the nuances of the Canadian job market with a view to making them more personally and culturally effective in reaching their potential.

Faham completed his MBA from Columbia University in New York and his MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School. He’s originally from Bangladesh.

This is one episode you should not miss and share with everyone you love.
