We believe that accessing the right resources to enhance the career success of immigrants shouldn’t be difficult and devoting more resources to helping immigrants transition into the labor force after they arrive is essential.
Our team seeks to significantly reduce the underemployments of immigrants and bring them up to the wage levels and employment of those born in Canada through all our free resources and support.

OUR STORY
Leveling the playing field for immigrants.
David Ojeyinka founded the Freshstart Hub in 2020. David moved to Canada from Nigeria in 2013 as an international student and internationally trained professional. As a newcomer, he was confused, frustrated, and with many questions unanswered.
He was inundated with lots of advice when he arrived in Canada, and the reality is, much of it was conflicting, so he can relate to the pains of international students and internationally trained professionals.
The problem of “no Canadian experience, no job – no job, no Canadian experience,” is still real for immigrants.
In Canada, Immigrants earn about 10% less than those born in Canada; 30 years ago the gap was less than 4%. The Canadian labour market appears to discount foreign labour market experience.
Bringing immigrants up to the wage and employment levels of those born in Canada has the potential to add $50 billion to GDP. Our goal is to provide access in a landscape where opportunity is not equally distributed.
