This is Part 2 of “A Quest for Gender Parity with Caroline Codsi.” If you haven’t heard Part 1 yet, go back and listen to it. That is the episode right before this because you’d need that for context.
Research shows that the world has a long way to go to achieve gender equality. Despite decades of progress, millions of women and girls still deal with violence and discrimination. Steps like closing the gender pay gap and promoting girls’ education make a huge difference. While most believe that gender equality is a worthy goal, why is it good for everyone? Why should it be such a high priority?
This week’s episode is all about how Caroline Codsi is helping women to advance their careers and sit on boards. I discussed extensively with Caroline how she is making space for women at the top and what lead her down this path.
Caroline Codsi is the President & Founder of Women in Governance, a non-profit created in 2010 with the mission to help women access decision-making bodies and male-dominated fields. Women in Governance’s programs have a deep and concrete impact on gender parity in Canada through advocacy, major events, mentoring programs, governance training as well as its Parity Certification developed with the support of McKinsey&Company and available across Canada and the US.
A Citizen of the world having lived on three continents, Caroline was born in Beirut and grew up through the civil war. A highly sought-after speaker, Caroline has addressed audiences across the globe.
She is the recipient of numerous national and international awards and was recognized as a Top 20 Diversity Leading Figure in Quebec, Top 75 Canadian Immigrant, and Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau nominated Caroline on Canada’s National Gender Equality Committee and Mayor Valérie Plante on the City of Montreal’s Business Committee.
This is one episode you should not miss and share with everyone you love.
